Mission ESW: Digital Education Initiative – Bhiwandi
A digital learning initiative introducing a smart classroom setup at ZP School Chane–Dighashi to improve access to engaging educational content for rural and tribal students.
Mission ESW introduced a digital education initiative at Zilla Parishad School in Chane–Dighashi, Bhiwandi, Maharashtra, aimed at enhancing learning opportunities for students in an underserved rural community. The school currently supports 27 students, many of whom come from tribal families and households engaged in labour-intensive work such as brick kiln operations and packaging industries.
As part of the initiative, ESW installed an Android television to create a digital learning platform within the classroom. This setup allows teachers and students to access educational videos, interactive lessons, and visual learning resources, complementing traditional teaching methods.
The goal of the project is to make learning more engaging and accessible by introducing technology into the classroom environment. By integrating digital content with regular teaching practices, the initiative aims to stimulate curiosity among students, encourage regular attendance, and provide exposure to modern learning tools that are often unavailable in rural schools.
During the visit, Team ESW interacted with students and teachers, observing how digital resources can enhance classroom engagement while still maintaining the value of traditional learning methods such as textbooks and written exercises.
Through this initiative, ESW seeks to bridge the digital gap between rural and urban education environments, ensuring that students from small villages have access to innovative learning opportunities that support their academic growth and future aspirations.
