Kathargaon Student Mobility Support Initiative

A mobility support initiative providing bicycles to students of ZP School Kathargaon to help them travel long distances and maintain regular access to education.

Mission ESW launched a student mobility initiative at ZP School Kathargaon to address one of the key challenges faced by rural students—long daily travel distances to reach school. Many students from surrounding villages previously walked between 4 and 5 kilometres each day to attend classes, making school attendance physically demanding and time-consuming.

Through this initiative, ESW provided bicycles to 22 additional students, bringing the total number of bicycles distributed in the region to 62. The bicycles enable students to travel more efficiently and safely, reducing the burden of long commutes and allowing them to devote more time and energy to their studies.

By supporting transportation access, the initiative strengthens school attendance and encourages students to remain consistent in their educational journey. For many students in rural areas, access to simple resources such as reliable transportation can significantly influence their ability to continue schooling.

This programme reflects ESW’s commitment to addressing practical barriers to education and ensuring that distance does not become a reason for students to discontinue their studies. By combining mobility support with ongoing educational encouragement, the initiative helps students move forward with greater confidence and determination toward their academic goals.
